A journey through the misaligned panels of the 2015 Toyota Yaris.
Now I know these aren’t the worst, but this is Toyota. If I’m not mistaken, the reason you bought a Toyota was because it was better built, and better thought out than the competition. The Yaris is neither of those things. In fact, it doesn’t actually excel at anything. Doug is right, it’s the car for people who only care that their car exists.
Most of these are hard to take pictures of, but you get the idea. I hope.
This one is more of a reflection of the body shops work, than Toyotas, although it’s no more off then how it was before the accident.
I'm not including any pictures of the full car, because I am not cruel, I don't want to force a post-facelift current Yaris front fascia on you poor souls. I'm glad the inside looks better then the outside. I was considering reviewing this car, since I drive it every day for work, but it would just be paragraphs of shitting on it. I imagine that would get tiresome.

That bumper has been hit, which is why the clips have pushed out. It’s not been re-installed correctly.

It hasn’t been hit, it slowly unclips itself constantly, I push it back on every few weeks or so

What kind of joint is that? May have a screw worked loose or something.

You’d think so, yeah ... orange indicators and all that.
I’m not sure there’s such a thing as a global Yaris, but the hatchback, at least on this side of the Atlantic, is pretty well-built generally. :?

Those clips have been released because the bumper has been pushed in far enough to break them apart. No damage to the bumper itself except for the clips pushing out. It’s a very common occurrence. I would look for marred paint or some other sign of impact on the bumper.

Yeah I guess someone could have bumped it while it was parked, people do tend to suck. It seems to me like the bumper cover is just slightly the wrong size to clip in and stay, but I defer to those who know better

I will say that at least the gaps on the hatch are even on both sides.

Same issue on my wife’s Insight and it drives me bonkers every time I see it.

Our Honda’s gaps and irregularities are pretty bad and it’s never had an accident. Even the plasti-chrome strip from the A pillar to the doors doesn’t line up. I’m not even being pedantic. It’s off by a well-engineered quarter inch, perfectly. Somebody at some point in the design had to say “Yep, good enough.” And it's the same story all around the body.

Oh what made her choose an Insight over a Prius? Not preferring the Prius, it's just the less common choice so I'm curious

Cheaper. Also now she has an undying hate for Prius drivers and the cars themselves, even though if you swap the “H” on her Insight to a “T” it’ll look just like a Prius.

Ouch....yeah I give the front end of this one a bit of a pass because it's been in a pretty bad accident, but the rest isn't noticeably better than my 97 Blazer or my dads 05 Taurus

Great! And if I can review an old hybrid , you can do this.
The Powershift in Steve's '12 Ford Focus killed it's TCM (under warranty!)

The build quality on my Focus is pretty good, but my front bumper looks kind of like yours and it was never hit (in my possession at least - who knows what happened on it’s way from the factory).
